I collect quotations. Here are a couple of my favorites; quotations that speak of female empowerment and community. In this series I also want to introduce you to some of Ireland’s most famous, and often feisty, women. Queen Maeve and Saint Brigid are characters from ancient Ireland but still remain larger than life in the Irish psyche. I hope that women everywhere will resonate with their strong personalities and interesting stories. In the past many Irish female historical figures have merited only a line or two in history books. I want to do my bit to bring these women out into the full light of history where they belong.
